Structural Steel, Engineered Lighter

Corrugated-web steel beams.
30–50% lighter. No mill roll dates.

SpanCorr Beams carry the same load at far less weight, allowing engineers to span farther with fewer columns and builders to cut foundation cost, schedule, and carbon. Engineered alongside your EOR.

What it is

The corrugated web beam

A conventional wide-flange beam has a flat web. The SpanCorr Beam replaces it with a corrugated, wave-shaped web. The corrugation resists shear buckling far more efficiently, so the web can be much thinner.

The flanges carry the bending; the corrugated web carries the shear. The result is the same strength at 30–50% less steel, designed per AISC 360-22 §F5 with web shear per EN 1993-1-5:2024 Cl. 13.

5.30 → 3.46 psf

On a representative office-floor bay, a SpanCorr solution came in at 3.46 psf versus 5.30 psf for the optimized wide-flange design, about 35% lighter.

General Contractors

Lower cost. Faster schedule.

A lighter superstructure cuts foundation costs, reduces crane picks, and speeds erection. With no mill roll date dependencies, you control the schedule from award to closeout. It also makes a strong VE case you can bring to the owner at any stage of design.

Shop-ready. No surprises.

SpanCorr Beams use simple shear connections, no more complex than standard wide-flange details. And when conventional material isn’t available due to market conditions, SpanCorr is a cost-effective VE option that keeps the project moving.
